Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

CLAUS UNION SL, founded by brothers Miguel Ángel and Francisco Claus, is a company whose activity focuses on the manufacture and wholesale of jewelry items internationally. It was created in 2011, based on a long family tradition, and is located in the Parque Joyero de Córdoba (Córdoba Jewelry Park). Currently, it participates in the most important fairs in the sector, such as Vicenza Oro, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Oroarezzo, and its models are exported to many countries worldwide.

All products are designed by the company itself, with more than 3,000 models adapted to each market. They are mainly made of 9k, 10k, 14k, and 18k gold and are combined to create collections of diamonds, precious, semi-precious stones, or plain gold.

In 2016, seeing the upward trend of online sales, the decision was made to create the BEA SOLDADO brand and bet on this sales channel aimed at the end consumer. For this purpose, Bea was incorporated, who gives her name to the brand and is a fundamental part of its development. The philosophy of this brand is based on 9k gold and simple and elegant minimalist designs, a perfect mix to reach all audiences.

For both business models, we have a fantastic team of professionals, fostered by a great atmosphere and the ability to tackle all the projects we have set for the future.

Our workshop is located in the Parque Joyero de Córdoba, Carretera de Palma del Río, KM 3.3. Phase 2 Nave 14. 14005 Córdoba, Spain, where we employ 11 people. Additionally, through El Corte Inglés, we currently have several sales points for our Bea Soldado brand in Córdoba, Madrid, Jerez, and Seville.

CLAUS UNION SL is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

The RJC is an organization that sets standards to promote responsible social and environmental practices and respect for human rights throughout the supply chain for gold, silver, platinum group metals, diamonds, and colored gemstones.

CLAUS UNIÓN S.L. Annual Report Summary

The history of our company is the history of three generations of a family whose tradition is closely linked to the art of jewelry.

Since its founding, this family business has been committed to quality, innovation, and differentiation. Our main motivation has always been to ensure the satisfaction of our customers by offering a direct and personalized service, as well as creating designs adapted to the trends and specific requirements of each market.

This year 2024, we have also embarked on a new adventure that responds to an increasingly widespread demand from our customers, and a real conviction that is already part of our corporate culture and has led us to integrate into the family of responsible companies recognized by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

CLAUS UNION SL, as an RJC member, assumes an ethical commitment that is reflected in its Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (available on its website).

Each year, CLAUS UNIÓN, S.L. produces a report analyzing the commitments and achievements made, resulting in this public declaration with the main conclusions derived from it.

All suppliers of CLAUS UNIÓN, S.L. must comply with the ethical principles defined in the Supplier Code of Conduct (available on our website) and strive to ensure that their suppliers and subcontractors comply with the same principles. This Code of Conduct guarantees respect for fundamental human rights: prohibition of child labor, prohibition of forced and illegal labor, prohibition of discrimination and harassment. Finally, it specifies the requirements regarding business ethics and integrity (fight against corruption, financing of terrorism and money laundering, policy on gifts and hospitality, respect for competition, conflicts of interest...).

CLAUS UNIÓN respects the five steps of the OECD's due diligence for responsible supply chains regarding minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. In this way, we use our influence to prevent others from causing harm.

To do this, we monitor risks related to human rights, labor, fiscal, environmental, and social issues for all suppliers in our supply chain. To carry out our risk assessment, we ask our suppliers to complete a self-assessment questionnaire, and depending on the risk level, a relevant action plan is developed and reviewed each year.

Risks and impacts have been evaluated by our internal teams by analyzing the responses provided by commercial partners in the questionnaires, as well as through knowledge of the activities and certification level (e.g., RJC) of these commercial partners.

In 2024, no serious risks were detected, therefore there is no risk that requires the implementation of a specific action plan different from the operational control established to mitigate or minimize the actual identified risks, and which sets out a series of internal procedures and policies. However, all these risks will be reviewed each year, and the plan will be updated if necessary.

We are also committed to developing and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and other business partners to promote responsible business practices throughout our supply chain. CLAUS UNIÓN, S.L. urges each supplier to strengthen their internal procedures and processes, emphasizing the sourcing of precious metals and diamonds through the implementation of a due diligence process throughout their supply chain, in accordance with the OECD guidance.

At the environmental level, CLAUS UNIÓN, S.L. has replaced chemicals traditionally used in the manufacture and sale of jewelry with others that are less harmful to health and/or the environment.

Regarding community contribution, CLAUS UNIÓN, S.L. continues to support the Prode Foundation through participation in the community of the Parque Joyero de Córdoba, where it develops training and employment programs for disadvantaged groups.

CLAUS UNIÓN, S.L. has also established a communication channel during this period (available on its website). The system allows any employee or external person who has knowledge of a violation of the Code of Conduct, guidelines, internal principles and policies, and/or applicable legislation and regulations, to report safely, anonymously, and completely confidentially any violation that has occurred or may occur with respect to internal procedures, ethical principles, and applicable legislation and regulations.

As key commitments for this period, it undertakes:

    ●       Promotion of responsible business practices (training, participation in conferences, programs, etc.).

    ●       Completion of evaluation, due diligence, and KYC among business partners.

    ●       Continuing the work initiated at the environmental level for the replacement of chemicals with less harmful ones and adaptation of the corresponding LERs.

    ●       Adjusting the designation of materials included in each item to the standardized (CIBJO blue books).
